Biography of Dr. Sheldon Gottlieb
Born in the Bronx, New York and was graduated from Brooklyn
College (BA), 1953; University of Massachusetts (MS), 1956; University of Texas
(Medical Branch, Galveston) (PhD), 1959. Research Physiologist, Linde
Division Union Carbide Corp., 1959-63; Assistant Professor Physiology and
Assistant Professor Anesthesiology, Jefferson Medical College, 1963-68;
Professor Biological Sciences, Purdue University at Fort Wayne, 1968-1980; Dean
of the Graduate School and Director of Research,
University of South Alabama, 1980-1985; Professor Biological Sciences,
University of South Alabama, 1980-1997; Administrative Council and Board of
Directors, Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium, 1980-85 (Chairman,
1982-1983); DUI Instructor, National Safety Council, 1986-1992;
Director of Research Baromedical Research Institute, 1984-1998.
Published over 100 papers pertaining to his areas of expertise in science and medicine as well as related areas of philosophy and sociology.
Listed in: Outstanding Educators of America, Whos Who in America, and Janes Whos Who in Aviation and Aerospace.
